Our 2017 show season started at the North Dakota State Fair . We had 1st yearling ram with Royboy, the 2016 NDSF champion, 1st Jan ram lamb went to Wolff's 1701 "Hickok". Hickok went on to be the Champion Suffolk Ram. In the female show, we had 1st, 2nd and 4th yearling ewes. Wolff's 1607 was the first place yearling ewe. We also had 2nd Jan ewe lamb and 2nd Feb ewe lamb. Wolff's 1607 was named Champion Ewe. We also had the Champion Flock.
At the Brown County Fair in Aberdeen, SD, Hickok was named Champion Ram and Wolff's 1607 was Champion Ewe as well as Reserve Supreme Champion Ewe.
At the South Dakota State Fair, Hickok and 1607 continued to do very well. Hickok was 1st place Jan Ram lamb and Wolff's 1607 was 1st place yearling ewe out of a extremely tough class of 19 ewes. She was also named Reserve Overall Champion Ewe.
We exhibited 3 head at the 2017 Naile. Hickok was named 1st Jan ram, Wolff's 1607 was 5th in her class and 16-21 was 9th in her class of yearling ewes.
We are always humbled by the generous placings and awards that we receive when we compete with our sheep. The shepherd here always says he is simply pleased to be able to show among a class of excellent sheep and every show we entered in 2017 had terrific sheep from top to bottom.
